PTK
Phototherapeutic Keratectomy is a procedure performed by an excimer laser to provide a smoother corneal surface. PTK is considered a bridge between medical and surgical management of different corneal diseases in a setting where a full thickness transplant can be avoided. It is performed as an outpatient surgery, and takes about 20 minutes. The healing time can be variable with up to 1 month or longer for full visual recovery to occur. Our surgeons at Arena Eye Surgeons will review your corneal topography and clinical testing in order to evaluate if PTK is the right treatment for your corneal condition.
