MEET CARRIE A. LEMBACH, D.O.
Dr. Carrie Lembach’s focus and motivation has always been caring for her patients to help restore and improve sight. She has inherited her passion for clinical care, teaching, and research from her father, who is a professor of Ophthalmology at the Ohio State University in corneal surgery. During her fellowship year, she worked with both Dr. Curtin Kelley and Dr. John Stechschulte.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Dr. Lembach attended college and received her Bachelor of Science degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio where she majored in Biology with a minor in Sociology, and Graduated Cum Laude. Following graduation, Dr. Lembach enrolled in the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio where she completed her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to a Preliminary Medicine Transitional Year Internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Eager to further her education, Dr. Lembach’s next step was the completion of her ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Corneal External Disease at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Her clinical areas of interest are refractive cataract surgery, dry eye disease, corneal disorders, keratoconus, Fuchs’ Dystrophy, and refractive surgery. After a decade in practice, she has continued her mission of education for her patients, medical students, residents, and fellows from both the Ohio State University and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to working at Arena Eye Surgeons, she is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Ohio State University. She also serves as clinical faculty for both Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio Dominican Physician Assistant Program. She has been an invited speaker at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meetings, as well as multiple local meetings.
EXTRACURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT
Dr. Lembach is also active in clinical research with current studies including dry eye, conjunctivitis treatment, and Graft versus Host disease. As a corneal surgeon, she maintains a strong interest in Eye Banking for the procurement and processing of tissue for transplantation to restore sight on both a local and national level. She currently serves on the Quality Assurance Board at the Central Ohio Lions Eye Bank and has also served on the Accreditation Board as an inspector for the Eye Bank Association of America.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her young daughter and husband.
